PRESCRIPTIONS - GENERAL EXPLANATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

1) Veterinary surgeons are obliged under the law to offer a written prescription for your pet's medication
2) The law states that vets cannot charge to issue a prescription
3) The Prescription Only Medicines (POM-V) for sale by medicines4yourpet.com can only be supplied on receipt of a written prescription from your own vet
4) Animals on medication already also need a prescription to enable us to supply medicines
5) POM-V medicines are identified by an image and/or wording stating that a prescription is required
6) The omission of such wording/images alongside a POM-V does not mean we will supply a POM-V without a prescription. We will inform you of the omission and request a prescription.
7) A prescription will only be accepted if it is completed properly. The document must contain the following information:

the veterinary practice address
the prescribing veterinary surgeon's name
the owner's name and address
the date of issue
the pet's name and details
the name of the drug and its strength
no prescription repeats are allowed for this product
the expiry date of the prescription, if applicable
the drug dosage rate and interval of dosing
the veterinary surgeon's signature
