Until December 2002, Mr Jackson provided
an "out of hours" service to clients for 10 years at
the JVC (this service was shared with Cogges
Veterinary Surgery for 8 years). Since qualifying in 1981, Mr
Jackson has done the equivalent of 11 straight years on call.
This is the equivalent of 11 years full time working - 7 days
and 7 nights continually working every week for 11 years!!
Now the Parkwood Veterinary Clinic in Woodstock does all our out
of hours work. It means a little more travelling time for some clients (and less for some!),
but the service is one of 100% attention to emergencies. The staff
is employed to work nights only. They will be on the premises
from 7.00pm till 8:30am, and thus provide full-time overnight
veterinary and nursing care for your pets. It is excellent service
for patients and you can be assured that you will get the best
care from vets and nurses with the backup of the facilities provided
by a veterinary hospital.
We hope that all our clients, both new and established, understand the need for this type of service and the
reason why Mr Jackson joined. Providing
an emergency service is a very difficult task for small practices
and the invasion of private lives is extremely stressful and
provides minimal reward. Emergency clinics are becoming very
popular all over the country with more and more vets enjoying
the benefit of time off.
Please call the JVC if you have an urgent case or an emergency - your
call will be redirected to Parkwood - no answering machine. Obviously
all day time cases will be seen at the JVC.
